Snowflake documents a Snowflake-managed MCP server, created with CREATE MCP SERVER, that serves Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Cortex Agents, SQL execution, and custom tools without separate infrastructure. The older Snowflake-Labs community MCP server is deprecated in favor of it.
- Covers: governed access to Snowflake objects as MCP tools, with Snowflake roles.
- Requires: semantic views, search services, and agents to be designed and maintained.
- Does not cover: systems outside Snowflake that answers also depend on.
